I’ve forgiven my beloved former evidence professor for offering his services as internet adviser for John McCain, because he’s jumped into the copyright fray with a constitutional (?) challenge to one of the statutes authorizing the RIAA’s heavy-handed litigation against random p2p users.* I’d like to see the briefs, actually — from the news reports, it’s not at all clear what the argument is. But even if the argument doesn’t fly, Charlie gets mad props from me for helping the RIAA’s victims stand up to the big bully.

* I’m not taking a position on the practice of filesharing here — merely that the damages are grossly punitive and unreasonable.
