Precious is an exceedingly good movie, but one should probably not see it with one’s mother.

The Sherlock Holmes movie isn’t exactly good. It’s fun. It doesn’t exactly have the literary virtues — an extremely weak plot, very little character development, not even any real mystery, as such — treat it as an action film with some fun characters and you’ll enjoy it.

But you should see Holmes anyway, for Irene Adler. She is my ideal woman.

What’s up with The Blind Side?

Other than Sandra Bullock’s stratospheric ass, I can think of NO other reason to see that hunk of crap.

“Guy Ritchie is the worst screenwriter in the world, but, to be fair, he is not the worst director. He is only the worst director of the people who actually get to make movies. As we speak, there are human beings walking the Earth – perhaps as many as a half dozen of them – with less directorial talent, but they’ve been safely diverted into other activities.”

Irene Adler is one thing, but do you also plan on throwing your arch nemesis to his death at Reichenbach Falls?
