… That horrible 50’s bubblegum squeaky song — is it actually called “Downtown?” — the one with the line “forget all our troubles, forget all our cares” — makes you seriously maudlin.

    Can you really, or isn’t it insane that you might, have a property interest in the aesthetic qualities of someone else’s house?

    Was thinking about reading, posting about, that paper. But then I thought roughly as follows: “the whole system of real property ownership and the political implications thereof (schools and property taxes, mortgages, etc.) is so broken that I don’t even want to think about it.”
